Will PVP fame ever skill up weapons and armor?
It's been a while since the last alpha I played, but back then I swore if you killed people in PVP the fame helped skill up your weapons / armor. I understand now it doesn't do anything but increase your overall fame.. That is really sad to hear as it was one of the main driving forces for why I liked to play. Is there any plans to reintroduce something like this? If my navigation through the forums was correct, it looks like that system was taken advantage of; I am hoping the system was shelved while you tweak and not just thrown out all together.
Perhaps rather than give a huge fame amount relative to the gear and inventory, we use just gear as a way of classifying what tier a character is and give them the same level of fame a mob of that tier has? The only way for that fame value to increase would be for the character to kill other players. Once that player has been killed they have a "respawn" time very similar to mobs of that tier before another death provide a fame reward?
While the game is a lot of fun to play and you and your group have done a great job polishing it, I've noticed a rather large drop in pvp compared to some of the other alphas I've played which really drew me in.
And it would only be the amount of fame a freshly spawned t6 mob which is what 50? Again let me highlight the details
Same fame as mobs of that level
Once killed there is a respawn time before being killed again will yield more fame (similar or longer to current mob respawn rates)
Killing people increases potential fame drop until you yourself are killed or leave the zone which then it resets..
Sure you could load the person up with t6 gear but the moment they flag or walk into a black zone they start with the minimum fame for that level (lets say 50). Sure you could kill that person and gain the 50 fame but then what do you do after that? If you're concerned that you could create multiple toons to farm, it could easily be countered with an exponential drop of fame for subsequent kills over a period of time (say after 5 kills). so in this system that person has just gotten 200 fame... that's drastically less than the current problem. As uniqueuser mentioned, we shouldn't forget the damage cost/ item destruction.

So for example if you have a PR of 80 then your Physical Reduction would be 44%. In the examples I use PR to avoid confusion but in the game the stat is actually just called Armor
