A few questions about Albion Online, will help you play in Albion
I was thinking of picking up Albion Online and after Doing some research had a few questions for the community. First off I heard that PvP plays a very large role in AO and that when killed you lose all of your gear. My first question is when you die do you have certain time frame to get your gear back? Or is it just gone? Second with that is it hard to recoup the gear lost when killed in PvP? I was also curious about PvE if it's still viable to play or if you have to PvP in order to progress? Finally I read in the forums that you have to buy the $100 pack in order to get the personal island, is this true? Lastly I was just curious if this game is fun all around and if it's a game you think you'll continue to play?
All founder packs give you at least 30 days premium. That does not mean that on release the packs will keep the 30 days. Probably it will be removed. But yes, at least in this last beta it has been easy to pay the premium with ingame money. Depends on the time you have. My advice it to get into the game ASAP to start finding out what this game is about. You will be lost at the begining and need to learn basic stuff that will speed you up once released.
do you have certain time frame to get your gear back? Or is it just gone?
There are different 'zones' that offer a range of protection. Blue and yellow zones prevent looting while red and black feature open world pvp and player looting.
Second with that is it hard to recoup the gear lost when killed in PvP?
Being in a guild helps with this as you will have a weapon smith/armour smith/gatherers that specialize in making whatever gear people need. For solo play if you can make enough money you can just buy the stuff you need of the market directly.
I was also curious about PvE if it's still viable to play or if you have to PvP in order to progress?
I believe you can entirely PvE but keep in mind most of the higher tier resources are in red or black (PvP player looting) zones.
Finally I read in the forums that you have to buy the $100 pack in order to get the personal island, is this true?
This is not true at all. It costs ~15,000 silver to buy an ingame island. You need to have premium status (30 days if you buy the cheapest package) to purchase an island but don't require premium to upgrade and use it thereafter.
Lastly I was just curious if this game is fun all around and if it's a game you think you'll continue to play?
Im enjoying it so far and will probably play quite a bit more on release. Its very (very) grindy, so know what your getting into. Its a lot more fun when you have a group of people to play with. Personally, the biggest issue for me is the (shitty) mobile UI. For the most part its functional but stuff like the market is sorely lacking good information (historical data, resource throughput, average cost) due to the need to keep things simple for a mobile interface.

Albion Online Destiny Board revamp
If a new player wants to be more useful, why not allow them to compensate for being new by purchasing T8 gear and jumping into the action? They still have to come up with the Albion silver to buy the gear, while being more likely to lose it, so it'll only boost the economy more.

Map size to player - albion guild ratio
lately Albion has felt empty. Even with the high player count and influx of new players the world feels empty. My thought in the matter is the current size of the map in regards to the population and competitive guild number

Albion Online timezones issues
So many gvgers in our guild can't do a lot of the times in our location. Probably teams in every guild had to stop gvging or find a new team due to this.

Albion Idea for Guild Vs Guild Warfare
How guild size impacts how you play should be scalable. This means a larger guild just has more of the same thing, not access to more content. This scaling can be introduced in the form of Influence.
